The Death of Literary Fiction.... And its Resurrection?

A New -different- Event

Dear Classical Wisdom Reader,

Today we’ll discuss something a little different from our usual Classically inspired musings… that of Literary Fiction.

In the age of anti-social media, digital devices and attenuated attention spans, what hope can we hold for the timeless art of the novel?

From the earliest writings of Mesopotamia through to last week’s sci-fi best-seller, we humans have looked deep into our imaginations to understand that most unique aspect of our existence: The Human Condition.

But is literary fiction destined for the dustbin of history, to be discarded along with so many quaint anachronisms, or is the genre itself bound for a long overdue renaissance?

Author and self-confessed “hopeless optimist,” Joel Bowman joins us for an in-depth discussion about these subjects in the context of his newest novel, the classically inspired Night Drew Her Sable Cloak (newly released in paperback!)

Join us on Saturday, December 9th, at NOON EST (New York time) to delve into the past, present and future of Literary fiction:

And yes, dear Classics lover reader, we will touch on some of the exciting timeless themes can be found both in the world of literary fiction and in Joel’s books… enantiodromia anyone??

PLUS: All those who register will be automatically entered into our book giveaway and can win Joel’s newest paperback novel, Night Drew Her Sable Cloak.

Can’t make it live? Don’t worry, everyone who registers will receive a recording of the event afterwards.

I hope you can join us!

All the best,

Anya Leonard
