LIVE Event: What is Plagiarism?

With Harvard Professor James Hankins and 'History of Philosophy without any gaps' Peter Adamson.

Dear Classical Wisdom Reader,

Save the date!

This Wednesday, January 17th at 2pm EST we are putting together a very topical discussion on “What is Plagiarism?” with two extremely esteemed speakers:

You see, our recent article on Plagiarism resulted in an outpouring of emails from readers all over the world. One of which came from a professor, forwarding me a WSJ article by Dr. James Hankins, professor of History at Harvard University.

I’ve had the fortune of doing a few events with Dr. Hankins over the years (including hosting a panel with him, Niall Ferguson and Angie Hobbs for our 2021 Symposium) and so reached out and asked him if he would like to speak further on the topic?

He said yes… and that we should invite Peter Adamson, professor of philosophy in late antiquity and in the Islamic world at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and author of “Don’t Think for Yourself: Authority and Belief in Medieval Philosophy.”

And so it came together perfectly - and so I would like to invite you, dear reader, to join us for this very important conversation:

I believe to make sense of these current events, we must first appreciate the evolution of Plagiarism and its role throughout history. By discovering the context in which this concept was born and preserved, we can choose which side of history we want to be on.

I hope to see you there.

All the best,
