Invitation to discussions on Plato, Aristotle and Euclid

Classical Pursuits

Dear Classical Wisdom Reader,

Our fellow classical literature lovers at Classical Pursuits are hosting a series of free online discussions on short works by Plato, Aristotle and Euclid… the first one starts TODAY at 8pm Eastern and there is still time to register! Full details are below.

The discussion dates and topics are:

  • Thursday, January 26th @ 8:00 pm Eastern, “Allegory of the Cave,” from The Republic by Plato

  • Thursday, February 16th @ 8:00 pm Eastern, “On Happiness” and “On Politics” by Aristotle

  • Thursday, March 9th @ 8:00 pm Eastern, Euclid’s “Definitions” and “Euclid Alone Has Looked On Beauty Bare” by Edna St. Vincent Millay

Each Zoom discussion will last approximately one hour. These are all short texts that do not require a lot of preparation; they ask participants just to read each text carefully before the discussion.

Limited space remains, so RSVP today at [email protected].

They will send all participants the Zoom link and PDFs of the readings. This discussion series is one of several programs connected to Classical Pursuit’s April 2023 small-group tour to Greece to read Homer's Odyssey. Should be a great discussion!

All the best,Anya LeonardFounder and Director
