Frequently asked questions

What is Substack and how do I use it?

Substack is a new publishing platform that aims to connect writers and readers in the easiest way. It’s sort of like YouTube for newsletters and writers. It’s a place to find lots of great content and create a collection of writers you value and want to follow and read.

Once you create an account with Substack, you can subscribe to Classical Wisdom or many other writers. And once you’re logged into your account, ALL of your subscriptions appear in one place.

It can be a little confusing at first. But once you’re logged in, all of your content is one easy-to-find and easy-to-read place. It allows us to easily publish our articles, webinars, podcasts and more to thousands of people… and of course, we are here to help with any questions you may have!

If I’ve paid for a subscription, how do I login to my account to read your research?

You do NOT need a unique username and password to login to your account, although you can set one up if you like. Take a look at the ‘Sign in’ page below. The easiest way to ‘Sign in’ is to enter your email address where it says ‘Your Email’, then click on the orange box below that says ‘Email Sign in link.’ A ‘magic link’ will be sent via email to the address you signed up with. Clicking on that link will take you directly into the site. (Please note the image below is just an image and not a live ‘Sign in’ Page.)

Also please note that if you previously had a Classical Wisdom Membership, your old username and  password for those subscriptions will NOT work here.

If you haven’t re-registered already, you need to email us so we can assist you. This includes Lifetime Members and anyone with active membership/recent renewal.

If you want an extra layer of security, you can also create a password for your account. If you choose to do that, make sure to write it down somewhere. On the form above, you’d enter your email address and then click on ‘sign in with password.’

Once you’re logged into your Substack account, you’ll able to see BOTH the free posts and the subscriber only posts.

What if I forgot my password or don’t remember setting one up at all?

Creating, forgetting, and resetting your password are common issues with any new service or website. Here’s a quick guide to resolving any trouble you may be having.

1.    If you want to create an account with Substack, and a password, so you can subscribe to Classical Wisdom’s free twice weekly newsletter, click here.

2.    If you already created a Substack account but have accidentally logged out and want to log back into to read your resources, click here.

3.    If you forgot your password or don’t remember setting one up in the first place, you may need to re-set it. You can do that here.

What is Pragma Publishing?

Classical Wisdom and Classical Wisdom Kids are a part of Pragma Publishing LLC. This is what you will see in your credit card description. You can ask us specifically about Pragma Publishing by emailing [email protected].

Where are the Classical Wisdom articles, the Webinars, Podcasts and Magazines?

Once you ARE logged in, you should be able to see ALL the posts--both free and paid. We will publish the twice weekly posts as well as all the member research.

At this time, we have so many podcasts, webinars and magazines that we will post at least one of each every week. However, so as to not crowd your inbox, we will send you one email with a collection of member resources weekly.

Everything we publish is sent directly to your email, the Substack App (if you have it on your mobile device) and posted to our website and archived. Post for paying subscribers only have a little padlock icon next to then. This indicates the post is ‘locked’ and only visible to paying subscribers.

You can also go onto the website and click on the “Members” section here: https://classicalwisdom.substack.com/s/members. There you will find all the most recently updated member resources.

Why won’t you accept my payment?

If we were unable to process your payment, please accept our apologies. There may be several reasons for it. So far we have had our customers tell us that they have been able to resolve this issue by either: logging into a different browser (Chrome instead of Firefox, for instance); attempting on a different device (on the laptop instead of iPhone); or by setting up Apple Pay.

We do sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this process.

We also hope to PayPal later this year. At this time, we cannot accept personal checks and do not take payments over the phone.

How can I contact you if I’m having a problem?

You can reply to each post on the website if you have a problem. When we see it, we’ll get back to you as quickly as we can. Or you can email us directly at [email protected].

We don’t have a Help Desk at the moment. Nor do we have a toll-free customer service number for you to call. We hope to add both later this year. Our apologies for any inconvenience this causes.

For now, please rest assured we’ll act as quickly as we can to help you access everything you’ve paid for and answer any of your queries.

Why am I not getting your emails?

If you’ve signed up and your payment is confirmed but you haven’t received any e-mails from us, our emails are probably going to your Promotions folder (in gmail) or perhaps your spam folder (in Outlook, Yahoo Mail, and others).

The best way to avoid this to add Classical Wisdom to your contacts in your email service. Also, if you DO see an e-mail from us in your spam folder, mark it as NOT spam and your e-mail provider will send it to your inbox.

Do you need a social media or Twitter account to be a subscriber?

No. You don’t need any social media accounts to follow us. Everything will be sent to you by e-mail and posted at our website at www.classicalwisdom.substack.com

But you can find us on Twitter @ClassicalWisdom or on Facebook, here: https://www.facebook.com/ClassicalWisdomWeekly. If you want to share any of our free articles on social media, please feel free to do. We do ask you to NOT share the research published and intended only for paying subscribers.

And stay tuned more features, including member’s only community forums, Zoom calls, podcasts and more in 2022!
